1991

Foundation of Shida Electric

Wuhan Shida Electric Co., Ltd. and Yangtze Three Gorges Nengda Co., Ltd. were established, laying the foundation for NSD’s long-term development in hydropower control technology.

First Programmable Microcomputer Governor

The first programmable microcomputer-based turbine governor was successfully put into operation at Hunan Ouyang Hai Hydropower Station, marking the beginning of formal production of hydropower turbine governors.

1993

2004

National High-Tech Industrialization Base

The company became a national high-tech industrialization base for large hydro turbine governors and received special funding support from the National Development and Reform Commission.

Pumped Storage Governor Breakthrough

The independently designed and manufactured governor system for Baishan Pumped Storage Power Station was successfully put into operation, making the company one of China’s early domestic manufacturers of large pumped storage governor systems.

2009

Expansion to Excitation Systems

The company was officially renamed Yangtze Three Gorges Nengshida Electric Co., Ltd. Its product structure expanded from hydro turbine governors to generator excitation systems, broadening its product range and technical capabilities.

Independent PAC Controller Certification

The company’s self-developed programmable automation controller passed type tests and IEC 61131 standard laboratory testing, supporting the wider application of independently developed PAC technology across product lines.

2020

Large Hydropower Projects Recognition

NSD received national-level recognition for key technologies related to large hydro turbine control systems and continued to support major projects, including Three Gorges, Baihetan, Wudongde, and other key domestic and international hydropower projects.
