Project Overview

The Xiluodu Hydropower Station Retrofit Project is a major modernization project on the Jinsha River, covering the left-bank 9 × 770 MW giant hydropower units. It is a strategic power hub in Southwest China.

NSD Electric delivered 18 sets of MGC4000 giant-unit digital governor systems for full replacement of aging imported equipment, 9 sets of TG6000 fiber-optic excitation systems, and multiple LCU, auxiliary control, and oil-pressure devices. The project also included unit control modeling and primary frequency-control optimization.

The retrofit solved long-term maintenance issues associated with imported legacy systems and significantly improved grid stability, control precision, and operational reliability.
