The 2026 Annual Conference of the China Society for Hydropower Engineering and Hydropower Development Conference opened in Nanning, Guangxi, bringing together leading organizations, experts, scholars, and industry professionals from the hydropower and renewable energy sectors.
Under the theme “Hydropower Innovation: Building a Low-Carbon and Integrated New Ecosystem”, the conference gathered more than 300 organizations and over 1,000 participants to explore new pathways for the integrated development of hydropower and renewable energy.
As a key enterprise in the field of hydropower control systems, NSD (Nengshida) Electric was invited to participate in the conference and presented its independently developed technologies and engineering achievements, demonstrating the strength of domestic hydropower control equipment.

Focusing on Industry Strategy and Innovation Direction
At the main conference, representatives from China Southern Power Grid, the China Society for Hydropower Engineering, and the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology delivered keynote remarks. They highlighted the strategic role of hydropower in the new era of low-carbon energy transformation and emphasized the importance of technological innovation in promoting coordinated development across hydropower, wind power, solar power, and energy storage.
During the conference, two authoritative industry guidance documents were officially released:
2026 Advanced and Practical Technology Promotion Guide for Hydropower and New Energy Projects
This guide includes 70 advanced technologies covering hydropower, pumped storage, wind power, photovoltaic power, and new energy storage. The selected technologies span the full project lifecycle, including survey and design, construction, operation management, digital transformation, and disaster prevention.

2026 Key Engineering, Industrial, and Frontier Scientific Challenges in Hydropower and New Energy
This document systematically identifies major technical challenges and industry pain points, providing important guidance for future scientific research, technical innovation, and project development.
Notably, the technical report “Research and Application of Fully Independent and Controllable Excitation Systems for Giant Hydro-Generator Units”, presented by Liu Yuqi, Deputy Director of NSD (Nengshida) Electric’s Technology R&D Center, was selected for inclusion in the advanced and practical technology promotion guide. This recognition marks an important milestone for NSD (Nengshida) Electric’s technological progress in excitation control systems for giant hydro-generator units.
